The time of hiding is over! Three principles for chubby men to shine

The time of hiding is over! Three principles for chubby men to shine

Always be yourself. Express yourself and believe in yourself. Don’t look for successful people to emulate.” I have come to embrace my chubby body as my individuality since I first encountered Bruce Lee’s words. Although I am in contrast to Bruce Lee, his words still live on in me. As a result of changing my mindset about dressing, not just about losing weight, my view of the world changed and my confidence grew. In this article, we present what men with the same problems can change right away, what they can start today, and what they should continue to improve in order to shine with confidence.

The first step you can improve right away1. Cleanliness is the foundation of everything

Lack of cleanliness is a matter of life and death because you are chubby. Untreated nose hair and unkempt beards are definitely to be avoided. Additionally, skin care and unwanted hair treatment are a must. For example, even if you only wear long pants, you may see your shaving hair at a moment when you sit down. It is true that such moments tend to emphasize a sense of untidiness. Keep your hair and eyebrows trimmed at a high frequency and make skincare a routine. These are small steps, but they alone will create a sense of security and naturally change the aura you give off. If you are chubby, it is just right to be overly conscious of cleanliness.

It's not your weight you should be concerned about, but your fat percentage!2. Muscle training for a thick and beautiful body.

Body fat percentage tends to contribute more to appearance assessment than body weight. If losing fat alone is difficult, then gaining muscle is the way to go. Even at the same thickness, thickness due to muscle makes a significant difference in visual impression. A review of multiple studies has shown that resistance training (muscle training) alone can lower body fat percentage, fat mass, and visceral fat. In other words, even if body weight does not change significantly, the reduction in body fat will result in a more defined appearance.

This is also consistent with the design philosophy of men’s clothing. Tailoring is based on the “V-shape,” which is a beautiful shape that has volume in the shoulders and chest and relatively tightens the torso. Muscle training is the foundation for this. By simply toning the shoulders, chest, and back, and adjusting the posture, the clothes will certainly look better.

Incidentally, I do not see many people with a similar body shape in Japanese fashion magazines, so I search for “big guy fashion” on Instagram to check out fashion influencers with chubby body shapes overseas. It is commonplace to see them working out at the gym in their feeds and stories. Don’t be too tied to your weight; take control of your body fat percentage and body silhouette. This is the first step you can take today.

Sense of style is an asset to keep polishing3. Dress to boost your unique chubby character

Once the cleanliness is in place and the body frame is built through muscle training, the next step is to create individuality. At first, it is effective to set rules such as using dark tones, refraining from using borders, and limiting the number of colors to three or less. What is really important, however, is to express individuality .It may be difficult to express a tight I-line or A-line silhouette, but there is plenty of room to play with color schemes and textures. If we look at the large body as a canvas, we can create a wide range of combinations that look great.

In the fashion world, too, there are many icons who use big size as a weapon. In Japan, the late Takeshi Osumi created Mr. Gentleman and was also a member of the hip-hop group Shaka Zombie. Overseas, Mr. Kim Jones was the director of Louis Vuitton and Dior Men’s. I refer to their styles that do not hide their large physiques. I am inspired by the way they incorporate coloring and even border patterns, which are generally considered to be expansionary colors, into their own styles and wear them beautifully.
