Attractiveness of Church “Tiverton” (2) “126 last with a long nose that goes well with the tassel design

The last used in the Tiverton is the “Last 126,” which is one of Church’s many lasts with a longer toe, making it suitable for slip-ons. The 126 last, which is characterized by a low toe and a line that rises up from the toe to the instep, gives a clean impression despite the F-width, and the rounded toe and moderately elongated nose are well balanced. The reason why the shoes do not look old-fashioned while having the robustness of vintage shoes is probably due to the good compatibility between the design and the last and its exquisite sense of balance. This sense of balance is the result of the tradition and experience of a long-established shoe manufacturer that has been making men’s shoes for 150 years.

Attraction of Church “Tiverton” (3) “Polished binder calf popular for its unique shine

Polished binder calf” is probably the phrase that comes to mind when shoe lovers hear the name Church. The former book binder calf was developed so that gentlemen in England, where it rains and humidity is common, could preserve the shine of their shoes without hassle, and the tannery applied a final coat of paint to give it a unique shine and water repellency. The current polished binder calf is an improved version of the original, taking into consideration the health of the tannery and environmental concerns.

Polished binder calf is a resin-treated leather, which is equivalent to so-called “glass leather,” but the glass leather generally available in the market is a coarse leather with many scratches and irregularities that need to be “faked,” while the hard kip (adult female cowhide) is used to process the leather. Church’s polished binder leather, on the other hand, is a hard leather that is often processed using hard kip (adult female cowhide).Church’s polished binder c alf, however, is made from calf leather (calf skin up to six months old), which is of high quality and flexibility. The resin treatment is made as thin as possible to bring out the texture of the leather, and this high quality leather is a material with an established reputation for its beautiful creases and flexible comfort. Regular care and maintenance are of course necessary, but the characteristics of glass leather allow you to enjoy the elegant gloss without any hassle, and it looks great not only with casual styles but also with dress styles.
