History of A Testoni

A Testoni was established in 1929. The founder, Amedeo Testoni, was born and raised in a family of shoemakers for generations. He is a genuine craftsman by heart, and after working his way up through the ranks, he established a workshop in Bologna, where the brand was born.
Amedeo Testoni’s dream was to “make the most beautiful shoes in the world. His high aspiration became a reality in the 1950s, a few years after the end of World War II. The leather shoes made by the “Bolognese method” developed by Amedeo Testoni were so soft and supple that it was unimaginable for leather shoes to be worn in the past.

A Testoni’s shoes began to be recognized worldwide in the 1960s. In 1978, the first flagship store was opened. It was extremely rare for a leather shoe brand to open its own boutique at that time. Amedeo Testoni is known as the first person to bring the essence of the Artigiano spirit, including the Bolognese method, to the world market. The technique and spirit have been passed down to the current artisans of A Testoni, who continue to produce the brand’s unique products.
