A collaborative collection that combines the sensibilities of both brandsJil Sander's understated spirituality meets Oliver Peoples' air of freedom
This collection brings together the conflicting elements that breathe in Jil Sander’s vision The two sides of the story, the conflicting elements. The duality of opposites is embodied in the balance between angular and organic, industrial and natural, and between titanium and acetate. The design and materials are expressed through the use of titanium and acetate. The understated spirituality typical of Jil Sander is reflected in functional parts such as temples and nose pads, which are in a mood of restrained assertiveness. In addition to the exquisite handmade finishing in Japan, all sunglasses are equipped with state-of-the-art glass lenses made in Italy and engraved with the Breath logo.
Furthermore, the common attitude of both brands in pursuit of timelessness is rooted in their commitment to outstanding quality, craftsmanship, and pure form. The attention to detail and the belief that ” beauty should be functional ” result in a surprisingly light and polished finish.
The launch campaign was photographed by Walter Pfeiffer, an artist known for his energetic and candid eye. The setting is Hamburg, Germany, the birthplace of Jil Sander. The sharp clarity of the visual intent contrasts with the innocence and freedom of the portraits, juxtaposing Oliver Peoples’ California roots with Jil Sander’s European heritage and modernist aesthetic to accurately reflect the essence of the project.
Here are six models from the collection!
Edition 1, 2, and 5Angularly shaped rims create individuality!
Both Edition 1 and Edition 5 in titanium frames feature an angular rim around the lens that is thicker at the top and thinner at the bottom. The pinch-molded titanium detailing forms a flat surface on which the logo is engraved. The temples lead to rounded, drop-shaped temple tips that combine comfort with distinctive design details; Edition 1 is a triangle-shaped frame with a double bridge, Edition 2 has a single high bridge and square lenses, and Edition 5 has Edition 5 features a bold double bridge frame with horizontal drop shape lenses.
Sculptural and voluminous attractive design!
subtitle=”Editions 3, 4, and 6″ in celluloid frames]Edition 3, Edition 4, and Edition 6 in acetate frames feature a sculptural, voluminous design. Edition 3 is a striking cat-eye model with raised temples, while Edition 4 features sharp, ultra-horizontal lines that create a stripe-like accent on the face. Edition 6 is a modern interpretation of the bold acetate sunglasses. The ultimate clean effect is achieved by eliminating unnecessary ornamentation without revealing the screws.
This collection is available in black, brown, and tortoiseshell, as well as custom-tailored colors in dark green, soft pink, and butterscotch. In all models, lens and frame combinations in tonal colors with a strong presence, or in discreet contrasts, are pursued. In addition, the accompanying folding case is a lean design reminiscent of the signature Jil Sander bag, adding an extra dimension of individuality.
