Kim Taku wears Ray-Ban's latest creation! brand campaign ambassadors.

Ray-Ban, a leading global eyewear brand, has appointed Takuya Kimura, a.k.a. Kimura Takuya, as its ambassador. The new Jack and New Clubmaster models worn by Mr. Kimura will be available at the official online store from November 5 (Sat) and at major Ray-Ban stores nationwide from November 19 (Sat).

The collaboration between Ray-Ban and Mr. Kimura was a big hit last year. Mr. Kimura, who is known to be a Ray-Ban fan in his private life, has been appointed as an ambassador for the campaign. The campaign features unisex eyewear in a wide range of silhouettes, from trendy styles to bold and minimalist styles. The initials ” RB ” in the campaign visuals are the iconic symbol that appears on all of the brand’s lenses, along with the Ray-Ban logo. The latest ” Transtions® ” lenses to be featured in the campaign are dimmable lenses that change color when exposed to ultraviolet light. These innovative lenses adapt to light with better response and recovery speed than conventional light-dimming lenses, providing eye protection, optimal vision, and stylish looks. Mr. Kimura, who became the new ambassador, said, “I was very happy to have collaborated with Ray-Ban last year, but I was also very happy to be able to express myself in a visual form by actually wearing Ray-Ban myself. I love Ray-Bans so much, so I was personally very excited to be able to leave the video with them on me.” commented Mr. Kimura. The campaign video featuring Mr. Kimura is now on view.

The Jack Kimura wears is a new shape that is neither round nor hexagonal. This stylish metal-framed model is equipped with Transitions® lenses. Mr. Kimura continued, “Since my meeting with Ray-Ban staff during last year’s collaboration, the existence of dimming lenses has been a big part of my mind. When I am usually indoors, I wear clear lenses, and then I go outside with my glasses on and the lenses automatically detect ultraviolet rays and convert from regular glasses to sunglasses. I hope that many people will be familiar with this item, as it protects both the eyes and the wearer’s vision, something I was really looking forward to. I think people will be surprised at first, but I hope they will use the surprise in their daily lives.” commented Mr. Kurokawa.

The new “NEW CLUBMASTER” model is an evolution of Ray-Ban’s long-selling “CLUBMASTER” model with contemporary details. This classic style has been reborn with a simplified form, soft edges and metal temples. The navy frames are striking. The black frames are very formal and may give the impression of being a bit stiff, but the navy color is really exquisite. It gives the wearer a casual impression, and since I myself don’t have to have a formal mentality, I feel that I can get closer to the person I’m “putting on” the frames. Transitions® is also compatible with prescription lenses. A total of seven colors are available as genuine Ray-Ban lenses that are compatible with New Clubmaster and optical frames.
