The first in the series, “DIESEL UPCYCLING FOR 55DSL,” a limited-edition collection with “55DSL,” which has made a comeback since 2014, has been on sale since February 22, 2020 (Saturday).

DIESEL, which has gained worldwide popularity for its denim, has launched ” DIESEL UPCYCLING FOR “, a series of upcycling capsule collections with a variety of designers. This series was launched to showcase how upcycling is driven by the imagination of designers and to explore its endless possibilities. Designers will be appointed for each new collection, and a wide variety of collections will be developed. The first collection, “55DSL,” was popular for its casual and practical design, but in 2014, the brand was sadly announced to be merged with DIESEL, and the “55DSL” collection will make a comeback.
The focus of this series is upcycling, or “creative reuse,” which refers to the process of converting existing products, waste, and dead stock into new products with higher value. This not only reduces consumption of raw materials, but also energy use, air and water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. This collection, designed using scraps of fabrics that would have otherwise been discarded, is environmentally friendly and contributes to sustainability efforts.
