What is Patagonia?
Patagonia was founded in 1967 by mountaineer Yvon Chouinard. The name “Patagonia” is a general term for the area south of the Colorado River that flows through the South American continent. The name “Patagonia” was chosen for three reasons: “a remote area not shown on maps,” “fantastic scenery with glacier-covered mountains, gauchos, and condors flying overhead,” and “easy to pronounce in many languages. At first, he mainly manufactured pitons used by mountaineers, but when he realized that he was destroying the nature he loved by hammering rocks into the ground, he decided to stop manufacturing pitons. His ideas on environmental conservation began before the current sustainable trend took off, and they are still being carried on today.
In the 1980s, Patagonia began to distinguish itself from other outdoor clothing brands by adopting a colorful palette that was unusual for an outdoor brand. The brand introduced functionality to cope with harsh conditions, as well as fashionable designs that can be used for town use. It has now grown to become an indispensable brand in the fashion scene.
What kind of vests does Patagonia offer?
Vests” are useful from the change of seasons and outdoors to town use. It is also an item that can add a fresh element to a mannerism and is an excellent item that will surely come in handy. Patagonia’s vest lineup can be divided into three main categories: down vests with excellent heat retention properties, fleece vests with a soft and comfortable fit, and fishing vests, which are worn while fishing and have recently joined the fashion item category.
