However, due to a disagreement between the two, the company was dissolved and each decided to go independent. This led to the establishment of Adidas in 1949 by the elder brother, Adolph, and Puma by Rudolph.

The name “Adidas” was derived from Adolph’s nickname “Adi” and his first name “Dassler. The Adidas name became known to the world in 1952. The name adidas became famous in 1952 when all West German athletes wore adidas shoes at the Helsinki Olympics. The Adidas Samba introduced here is said to be the oldest Adidas model, having been introduced earlier, in 1950. The model was named after the “samba” music of Brazil, the host country of the 1950 World Cup. Today, the model is used in a wide range of situations, not only for its functionality, but also for its fashionable design that can be used in town.
