The so-called synthetic leather (synthetic leather) Birkoflor is an original PU leather developed by Birkenstock. The surface is flexible and elastic, with a texture comparable to genuine leather, and the back side is made of fleece fabric. The backside is made of fleece, which is breathable and feels good on the foot, making it less likely to cause shoe sores, which is a common problem with PU leather. When nubuck material is soaked in oil, the hairs are crushed by the oil, creating a texture similar to smooth leather. Since oil tends to accumulate in areas where pressure is applied, regular brushing will allow the material to enjoy a glossy sheen that ordinary smooth leather does not have.
