Aston Martin unveils the DB11 for the first time.

On March 1, 2016Aston Martin opened a new chapter in its 103-year history with the premiere of the new DB11 at the 86th Geneva International Motor Show. The new model is the first in Aston Martin’s ambitious “Second Century” plan and the spearhead of the legendary ” DB “, a pure and dynamic new sports GT in the Aston Martin tradition.

The DB11 is ” the fastest and most powerful DB ever.

The DB11 points in a new direction with a fresh, bold design, cutting-edge aerodynamics, a new 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo engine designed in-house, and a bonded aluminum structure that balances weight, strength, and space efficiency. The DB11 is the fastest, most powerful, most efficient, and most dynamic DB in Aston Martin’s history. The DB11 is the most sensational new Aston Martin since the DB9 in 2003.

The DB11 was developed to be the most beautiful car in the world.

Aston Martin CEO Dr. Andy Palmer said: “We are proud to present the most beautiful car in the world. We have created the DB11 to be the most beautiful car in the world. The DB11 is the ultimate expression of what an Aston Martin should be, and we have worked hard to combine the very best of design with the very latest technology. An all-new bonded aluminum platform, superior aerodynamics, a newly designed twin-turbo V12 engine, and a class-leading infotainment system are just a few of the features that make this sports car the result of Aston Martin’s “second century” plan. The new Aston Martin is the result of Aston Martin’s “Second Century” plan, and is the first of its kind in the world. ”

Innovative design while continuing the tradition of previous generations

The DB11 heralds a new era of Aston Martin design and is the latest landmark model in a line of tradition that has continued with the DB2/4, DB5, and most recently the DB10, developed especially for James Bond. DB11 is the latest landmark model in the DB11 lineage. The DB11 inherits the form and functionality of previous DBs while incorporating a number of fresh design elements. The DB11 is a bold evolution of the iconic design vocabulary, with a front-hinged clamshell hood, striking LED headlights, and Aston Martin’s signature grille and its accent lines. A dynamic profile is created by a continuous roof strake that extends from the A-pillar to the C-pillar. The clean lines continue to the rear, blending into the sculpted taillights via the decklid slope, creating a fresh and instantly recognizable graphic.

Sophisticated airflow design

Innovative aerodynamics manage airflow over the underside as well as the surface of the body, improving stability and contributing to Aston Martin’s signature flowing surface structure. The gill-inspired carliques reduce front lift by exhausting high pressure through the wheel arches via hidden vents in the redesigned side strakes. Rear lift is controlled by Aston Martin AeroBladeTM , which functions as a virtual spoiler with air intakes at the base of the left and right C-pillars. Air is drawn into the bodywork and then expelled at high velocity through the rear decklid openings.

Powered by Aston Martin’s in-house designed 5.2-liter V12 Twin Turbo engine

In keeping with the Aston Martin formula, the engine is front-mounted. At the heart of the DB11, however, is a newly developed 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo engine. This power unit, designed in-house by Aston Martin, delivers a maximum output and torque of 608 PS (600 bhp) and 700 Nm (*predicted values). Powered by the powerful new V12, the DB11 is the most powerful road-going DB ever. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds1 and reaching a top speed of 322 km/h, it is the fastest DB ever in terms of dynamics and acceleration. Intelligent bank activation and stop-start technology ensure that the DB11 is as efficient as it is powerful.

Body structure and systems that exploit the potential of the V12 Twin Turbo

The DB11 features a revised chassis, suspension, steering and electronics, and new technologies to take advantage of the new body structure and the potential of the new V12 Twin Turbo. Driver-selectable Dynamic Modes (GT, Sport, and Sport Plus) progressively alter the response of the engine, ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, new electric power steering, and braking-activated torque vectoring, as well as the engine’s ability to respond to changes in engine speed. It also adjusts the damping force of the adaptive damping system for greater agility. The Dynamic Mode offers a wide range of driving experiences, from a very comfortable ride in a GT car to a true sports car with outstanding athleticism and agility.

Sophisticated electronic control system

The new DB11 is an Aston Martin for the 21st century, skillfully combining cutting-edge technology developed with technical partner Daimler and handcrafted by master craftsmen to the highest standards of quality. The Aston Martin 11 is a clever combination of state-of-the-art technology developed in conjunction with technical partner Daimler and handcrafted by skilled artisans and equipped with the highest quality features. A new instrument cluster with a full-color 12-inch TFT LCD display shows key vehicle information. A second center-mounted display (8″ TFT) is dedicated to infotainment. Intuitive rotary switches and an optional touchpad (with text recognition, multi-touch and gesture support) all enhance the efficiency, sound and usability of the new satellite navigation and audio system. Auto Park Assist and a new 360° Bird’s Eye View mechanism enhance safety when maneuvering at low speeds. These mechanisms can be operated via the infotainment system.
