What is Teva?
Teva is an outdoor footwear brand that originated in California, the United States. The founder is Mark Thatcher, who founded the brand in 1984. Mark is an active scholar who, in addition to his title as a geophysicist, was also a river guide in the Grand Canyon. Frustrated by the ease with which flip-flops came off in the water during rafting and other leisure sports, Mark invented the idea of adding a strap to conventional sandals to secure the ankle. The result was the world’s first “sports sandal” with an ankle strap.
The Teva sports sandals developed by Mark quickly took the outdoor scene by storm. Since then, the company has actively developed sandals, sneakers, boots, and other items based on the philosophy of enjoying activities near water, such as rivers and the ocean, and protecting feet from injury.
