]The “GEL-NYC” was created in collaboration with streetwear brand Awake NY, based on the concept of “reinterpreting elements of various heritage shoes with a modern design interpretation. The name of the model literally comes from “New York,” one of the most cutting-edge fashion centers in the world.

This model, which became an ASICS staple after the collaboration led to its creation, is a hybrid design based on the GEL-CUMULUS 16 sole and GEL-NIMBUS 3 upper, and combines archival features such as the colors and materials of the “GEL-MC PLUS V”. The sneakers are also made of suede, which is rare among ASICS sneakers, which are currently gaining momentum.
