The “Stan Smith Freizeit” maintains the traditional Stan Smith look while mixing in details reminiscent of leather shoes to create an appearance that goes great with not only casual pants but also elegant slacks. As the name suggests, this new model was inspired by the “Freizeit” (“Leisure”) mood and the athleisure catalogs of the 1970s. Stan Smiths were originally favored by Italian fashionistas as a sneaker to add to their suit outfits, but I feel that the new model is a sleeker, more contemporary version that expresses a dress-mix style.

The upper lining is also made of leather for a luxurious feel. When you put your foot through the shoe, you can feel the comfortable hardness of the sole like a leather shoe. They are available in three colors: white, black, and redwood. Incidentally, the redwood is the closest to the atmosphere of the 70’s athleisure catalog, which was the source of inspiration for the shoes.
