This model is a reissue of the 501s from 1993. The year 1993 was a big turning point for Levi’s. There were two styles, the American 501 and the European 501. In 1993, the two styles were integrated in terms of silhouette, back pocket size, positioning, etc. The globally unified Global 501 was born, and was sold in markets around the world for the next 10 years until the 2004 model was introduced. Compared to today’s 501s, the waist and crotch are roomier, and the fit is straight with no taper, falling neatly to the feet. The fabric is made of stretch material and finished with a ’90s-inspired wash.
