What are the three charms that JONS SMEDLEY cardigans boast?
Appeal of cardigans made by JONS SMEDLEY (1) “Beautiful and pleasant to the touch, superb material
One of the major differences between cardigans from other knitwear brands is the focus on materials. Jon Smedley cardigans use the highest quality ” merino wool ” and ” Sea Island cotton. From the raw materials to the finished fabric, it takes about one year to produce one cardigan. To ensure the best possible product, raw materials are procured one year before garment production begins.
Merino wool” is soft and gentle to the skin
John Smedley’s merino wool begins with the selection of the best livestock farmers. The fineness and length of the fiber greatly determine the quality of the fabric, and although it is easy to imagine its softness when compared to human hair, which has a diameter of 90 microns, the diameter of merino sought by Johns Smedley is 18 to 19 microns. The smooth twisted yarn of merino is smooth and soft to the touch, and the finished fabric fits snugly against the skin. Another appeal of the cardigans produced by Johns Smedley is that they do not feel the itchiness characteristic of wool when worn.
Sea Island cotton” with beautiful luster and color
Jon Smedley’s Sea Island cotton is a top-quality natural material with a silky sheen and a cashmere-like feel. Most items in the spring/summer collection are made of this world-renowned top-quality cotton. Sea Island cotton is grown in diverse climates and painstakingly manufactured into perfect, ultra-fine yarns. After processing, the yarn is spun and dyed at the John Smedley factory. The dyeing process is subject to strict testing for chemical substances and the effects of washing, perspiration, and abrasion, and only those that pass these tests are dyed.
