It started when Thomas Kay, an English wool weaver, moved to Oregon in 1863. He began operating a family-owned factory as a manufacturer supplying mainly wool products, and in 1909, while trading with Native Americans, led by Thomas’ grandchildren, he began producing blankets with Native American patterns.
