Island Slipper’s largest pop-up store in Japan opens in Omotesando for a limited time!

ISLAND SLIPPER, a hugely popular brand of handmade sandals made in Hawaii based on Japanese zori sandals, will open one of the largest pop-up stores in Japan in Omotesando from August 10 (Fri.) to August 19 (Sun.). Many archived items and rare models that are rarely available will be on display.

The “ISLAND SLIPPER” brand was founded in 1946 by Takizo Honaga, who immigrated to Hawaii from Fukushima, Japan. Since its establishment, everything from design to manufacturing has been done in Hawaii, carefully produced by skilled craftsmen. The sandals are based on zori, a traditional Japanese sandal, and have the appeal of being versatile and elegant enough to fit not only beach style in Hawaii, but also city use without feeling out of place. This pop-up features a lineup of various models of such high-quality sandals. In addition to the latest collection, archived items and rare models will also be available.
