Nike Sneaker Masterpiece Model 7 “Tailwind
The Air Max 1 is often thought to be the first model to feature the Air Sole, one of Nike’s most iconic details, but in fact, the ” Tailwind,” introduced in 1978, was the first shoe to feature Air. The idea of wrapping high-pressure gas in urethane film and using it in running shoes was conceived by Frank Rudy, a former NASA engineer. It is intriguing to note that the idea was initially brought to Adidas, which rejected the idea, and was later adopted by Nike. Today, they are synonymous with retro sneakers, and their wide variety of colors enliven the fashion scene.

In 1987, ten years after the Tailwind was introduced, the ” Air Max 1 ” exploded in popularity due to the visualization of the air sole mounted inside the sole. Tinker Hatfield, a renowned genius designer, took inspiration from the architectural design of the Pompidou Center in Paris and incorporated it into the design. The “Visible Air” design allows the pressure of the airbags to be released to the proper degree, improving comfort. The visually innovative design was also a big hit in the sneaker market. Although many limited edition colors and collaborations have been released to date, the first color, University Red, is still very special. Every time the sneakers are reissued, they are always the talk of the town and coveted by sneakerheads.
