New Balance’s 990 series began in 1982 when the first model was released as a running shoe for paved roads. It was sold at a price of $100, an expensive price in the running shoe market at the time, and the model was named the 990, meaning “On a scale of 1000 this shoe is a 990 (achieved 990 out of 1000 points). The 990v5 is the latest version of the original 990 model. The upper is a combination of high-quality pigskin suede and mesh, retaining the feel of the original 990 while evolving into a modern, sophisticated design.

The “990v4” is characterized by its upper design with intricate, moderately high-tech styling compared to the 990v5, and when the 990v5 was released, some fans said they preferred the 990v4’s design. At the most recent Pitti Uomo, there were many fashionable people wearing 990v4s on their feet.
Although the 990v4 is no longer in production, some stores still sell it in certain colors and sizes. If you are interested in these shoes, it is a good idea to purchase them before they become hard to find.
