Champion's timeless classic "Reverse Weave" and recommended items!

Four features of Champion’s ” Reverse Weave ” besides the horizontal use of fabric

The revolutionary Reverse Weave was achieved by using fabric horizontally to achieve a high level of durability. In 1988, 50 years after the patent was obtained in 1938, the 50th anniversary model was released. The 80th anniversary model was released in 2018, and has become one of Champion’s most iconic items.

Champion ” Reverse Weave ” features (1) Side ribs for high mobility and comfort

Side ribs on both sides of the sweatshirt were adopted to prevent lateral shrinkage. This not only reduces shrinkage due to washing as mentioned above, but also increases the strength and elasticity of the sweatshirt while preventing it from losing its shape when worn, thus greatly improving mobility. It is so well recognized that it has been adopted as training wear by athletes who work in harsh fields and by the U.S. military. In addition, the ribbed portions are sewn using the flat seamer method, which has no unevenness, for a comfortable feel against the skin! This is a standard specification that is now also used for T-shirts.

Champion “Reverse Weave” feature (2) Thick fabric

Reverse weave has the softness and warmth of a wool sweater. Although the thickness varies depending on the origin, the age of production, and the model, sweatshirts that are thick enough to be durable and warm can only be made with reverse weave.
