OMEGA Unveils a New Version of its Historic Masterpiece, the Speedmaster!
The original Speedmaster, known as the ” CK2915-1, ” was Omega’s first chronograph watch with a tachymeter scale on a bezel designed for professional racers. The new Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold ™ was produced to commemorate the 65th anniversary of this legendary model launched in 1957. Inspired by the first model, it features vintage-inspired details found throughout.

The Canopus Gold™ used in the 38.6 mm case has all the characteristics of 18K gold, but with the added benefits of dazzling brilliance, whiteness, and superior durability. The black onyx dial features the vintage Omega logo and oval “O” that symbolized the first model. Perfectly finished with Canopus Gold™ hands and indices, three subdials and a central chronograph function.
In addition, the tachymeter scale on the bezel faithfully reproduces the “Dot over 90 (DON)” above the 90 and the “Dot diagonal to 70 The crown also features the CK29. The crown also features the naiad mark, which indicates water resistance, as seen on the CK2915 model.

Equipped with Caliber 321, the same movement that was actually worn on the moon
The Speedmaster with Caliber 321 is famous as the model that accompanied all six lunar landings. It will be reissued in 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, and this piece also uses that Caliber 321. The beautiful sapphire crystal glass caseback is engraved with the brand’s iconic Seahorse. Its eye is adorned with a sparkling blue sapphire, befitting the anniversary. The back of the Seahorse on the glass clearly reveals the moving summa of the calibre 321, a hand-wound chronograph movement with an 18K Sedna™ gold-plated finish.
The accompanying 18K Canopus™ gold bracelet features the Comfort Release System, a size fine-adjustment feature.
The wooden box, inspired by the original design, is also designed in a luxurious and simple way to commemorate the special 65th anniversary.
