For your whole body care! Selected recommended products of body oil

Among body care products such as body cream and body scrub, “body oil” is currently the focus of attention. In addition to protecting against dryness, body oil is highly versatile, with a relaxing fragrance and a body massage that relieves body fatigue and swelling. In this issue, we focus on “body oils” and introduce the types of oils and recommended products.

What is Body Oil Anyway?

Body oil is oil that has been refined to a level where it can be used for body care. Body oil has a barrier effect that prevents moisture from evaporating from the skin, making it ideal for moisturizing care. Although it is mainly oil, it is surprisingly non-sticky and blends easily when spread on the skin, and is often used for massage because of its smoothness.

Find Body Oils

Body oil isn’t just for your body, it’s for your hair too!

Although it is called “body oil,” it can actually be used not only on the body but also on the hair. The best time to use it on hair is after using a treatment or conditioner. After applying an appropriate amount to the hair, towel dry or blow dry the hair, and the hair will be left with a moderately moist texture. This product is suitable for caring for hair that has lost moisture due to perms and coloring, and is therefore recommended for those who are concerned about dryness of their hair. It can also be used for nail care by applying it to nails, so men with a high sense of beauty should not lose out by having a bottle.

When choosing a body oil, don’t forget to check the type!

There are many different types of body oils. Since they have different effects, you should check them out if you are going to purchase one. Here are some of the most common types of body oil.

Body Oil Type 1: Jojoba Oil ” Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil contains wax esters, which are among the highest in plants. Wax esters are also found in human skin (20~30%), so jojoba oil is said to be highly absorbent and permeates the skin. It is also light and smooth, making it easy to use for men. Since it is an ester oil, it does not oxidize easily and can be used on all skin types, so it is recommended as a first body oil.

Body Oil Type 2 “Argan Oil

Argan oil is recommended for those who suffer from rough skin and wrinkles due to aging as well as dryness. It contains 4~10 times the amount of vitamin E (tocopherol) as olive oil, and is expected to have an antioxidant effect, promote blood circulation, and restore normal skin turnover. It can be used not only for body care but also for scalp care. A few drops rubbed and massaged into the scalp will keep it healthy.

Body Oil Type (3) “Olive Oil

Olive oil, a familiar ingredient in Italian cuisine, is rich in oleic acid and has excellent moisturizing properties. Its high penetration into the skin and its ability to soften the skin make it suitable for use on hands, elbows, and feet, where dryness and hardness of the skin are a concern. Edible olive oil is less refined to preserve its flavor and should not be used on the skin. Basically, the refining grade increases in the following order: food grade, cosmetic grade, and pharmaceutical grade.

Body Oil Kind ④ “Shea Butter / Shea Fat

Shea butter, with its pleasant nutty aroma, has extremely high moisturizing properties and locks moisture into the skin. It is also suitable for moisturizing hair and protecting it from UV damage, as it is often used in hair care products. However, shea butter has a harder texture than other oils and can easily feel sticky if too much is applied, so care should be taken. When used as a hair care product, it is best to apply it mainly from the middle of the hair to the ends.

Body Oil Type⑤ “Sweet Almond Oil / Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil has excellent whitening effects, such as soothing sunburned skin and inhibiting the growth of melanocytes that produce melanin cells, the cause of sun spots. It contains vitamin E and oleic acid, so it is high in antioxidants, and on top of that, it is rich in minerals and other substances that should help cleanse the skin. Incidentally, it is also known as a typical carrier oil most commonly used in aromatherapy and is suitable for facial and hand massage. If you are looking for a body massage oil, almond oil would be a good choice.
