Feature 3 of Alpha “N-3B” “Various windproof specifications inherited from 50 years ago
The various functional specifications inherited from modern down jackets are also a point of interest. There are hand warmer pockets on the chest to keep hands warm, and flap pockets on the waist. Both of these pockets can be easily handled while wearing thermal gloves.
The inner cuffs are extended and the knit ribs are hidden inside to prevent cold air from entering, another detail typical of military outerwear. The front is equipped with a storm flap to block cold wind from entering through minute gaps in the zipper, while at the same time preventing the zipper from freezing. An inner drawstring narrows the waist to prevent dragging around the waist, and also shuts out cold air and wind from the hem. The design and details that pursue the highest level of thermal protection and functionality have been passed down to the present day without changing the basic form for more than half a century.
