Brooks Brothers, which has been advocating fine and elegant American traditional fashion for over 200 years since its establishment in New York in 1818, has invited Shuhei Nishiguchi, director of BEAMS F, a leading men’s dress fashion brand, as editor to launch a capsule collection <JAPAN TRAD.
Capsule Collection <JAPAN TRAD.>Fusing elegant and high quality American traditional with advanced Japanese technology and Mr. Nishiguchi's sensibility
This collection, with Mr. Shuhei Nishiguchi, director of BEAMS F, a leading men’s dress fashion brand, as editor, is the first of its kind. This collection is based on the signature items of Brooks Brothers, which Mr. Nishiguchi has long cherished, and features items produced in top-class workshops in Japan. The lineup is for adults who love authentic and modern items made with carefully selected materials, trusted Japanese sewing techniques, and his own sensibilities. The collection includes two types of suits, a blazer, a bulk collar coat, four types of polo collar shirts, three types of trousers, and four patterns of ties.
In announcing the launch of this collection, Mr. Nishiguchi had the following to say. The “JAPAN TRAD.” collection is meant to focus on Japan’s excellent craftsmanship and planning, as well as a modern reinterpretation of the Brooks Brothers East Coast style as we Japanese see it. The Brooks Brothers corporate philosophy is to create new history every day while respecting the traditions of the past, something fresh, something new, and something certain. We have created a collection that you can feel this in abundance.”
<JAPAN TRAD.>Collection①Blazer
The blazer of the stepped-back 3-button sack model, which can be said to be the origin of Brooks Brothers, was produced by the factory brand “Ring Jacket” whose precise craftsmanship is highly regarded worldwide. The fabric is made by Brooks Brothers, Inc. For the fabric, we adopted a fabric spun solely from “Escorial wool,” which is a further upgraded grade based on the spinning of “Saxon wool,” which Brooks Brothers produced and once attracted many fans. The twill fabric is made from 100% Escorial wool, a rare and rare wool known as “royal sheep,” and is finished with London Shrunk, a luxurious process that gives the fabric a moderate natural stretch. Although it is made of 100% wool, it has luster and bounce, and has a cashmere-like feel to the skin. The single-piece collar, which is ironed and bent by skilled craftsmen, beautifully follows the neck and expresses the natural shoulder, a Brooks Brothers’ signature, while the three-dimensional sleeve attachment provides a beautiful fit and superb comfort. The ladder hanging that connects the upper and lower collars is finished by hand to create a flat and beautiful lapel.
Price: ¥176,000 (tax included)
<JAPAN TRAD.> Collection ②Suits
This This 2-button suit was also produced by ” RING JACKET “. The fabrics used are a soft and bristly saxony material made by William Halsted, a prestigious British clothing brand, and Fox Brothers’ classic ” classic flannel,” which is said to be synonymous with British flannel. The single-piece collar that beautifully follows the neck, the beautiful fitting with three-dimensional sleeve attachment, and the beautiful hand-finished lapels are the same as those of the blazer. This beautiful suit that naturally follows the body can be worn with any shirt and tie, and is also recommended for styling with no tie, such as a turtleneck. Three colors are available: navy, charcoal, and gray flannel.
Price: Navy, Charcoal ¥220,000 each (tax included), Gray Flannel ¥242,000 (tax included)
<JAPAN TRAD.>Collection ③Polo collar shirt
The new model is a reproduction of the original red-tagged 6-button, relaxed silhouette Madison fit (now traditional fit) that was introduced in the United States around the 1980s. It is characterized by a very beautiful balance between the front opening and the roll of the collar when the first button is undone. The Bengal stripe and plain beige colors, which are made of traditional 40/1 x 10/1 oxford fabric using 100% U.S.-made Supima cotton, are special colors selected by Mr. Nishiguchi. The cleric polo collar shirt, which has a distinctly American feel in the specification that only the collar is white, is a reproduction of a shirt from the vintage archives. The shirt is made of high quality cotton-silk oxford fabric with a high density and strong beating, so it will become softer and more supple as it ages after being worn and washed. The buttons are made of white butterfly shells. It is available in four colors: Bengal stripe, beige, cleric collar, and white.
Price: Bengal Stripe, Beige, Cleric Color ¥24,200 each (tax included), White ¥41,800 (tax included)

<JAPAN TRAD. Collection ⑤Trousers
commissioned by ” Igarashi Trousers “, a Japanese pants brand known for its beautiful silhouettes and high level of perfection. The wool fabric is from a long-established fabric manufacturer in Bishu, Japan, and while based on a two-pleat traditional fit (relaxed silhouette), the handwork originating from Bespoke and the absorbent waistband provide an excellent fit. The beautiful silhouette falls straight down vertically from the beautiful inner thighs to the hem by taking out the curvature. The beautiful silhouette is the reason why these pants feel slimmer than their dimensions. The silhouette was created to create a mature and elegant atmosphere when worn with the same traditional-fit shirt, not to mention when styled with a blazer at its core. The large black watch and flannel trousers are beltless with side adjusters to adjust the waist. Cotton trousers in thick chinocloth with belt loop single ball-rimmed pockets. They are available in three colors: black watch, gray flannel, and beige cotton twill.
Price: Black Watch $59,400 (tax included), Gray Flannel $53,900 (tax included), Beige Cotton Twill $42,900 (tax included)
[title_h 2 title=”Neckties” subtitle=”<JAPAN TRAD.>Collection ⑥”]
The recipe of the British company Berners, which has long been entrusted with the production of Jacquard Rep tie fabric, has been reproduced at Stephen Walters, also in England. The British rep fabric is firmly hammered and elastic, making it easy to tighten and difficult to untie, and it also has the pleasant characteristic of quick crease recovery. Made in Japan with an emphasis on hand-stitching. Mr. Nishiguchi’s particular focus was to create a fresh look by boldly changing the pitch and thickness of the pattern based on Brooks Brothers’ representative BB#1 stripes, BB#3 stripes, and the standard Argyle Sutherland. In addition, brown- and black-based designs, which are almost never seen at Brooks Brothers, were added to the lineup to offer a new angle. For animal-print ties, a new model was proposed, a pheasant stripe that is typical of the fall and winter season. The variation is classical, but with a little arrangement, it can be seen as so much more modern. The color of the bartacks is unified in purple.
All four models 20,900 each (tax included)
