What is The North Face’s classic down jacket, the ” Nupsi Jacket “?
The North Face’s Nuptse Jacket was launched in 1992 as a down jacket for expeditions (mountaineering/expeditions). The name “Nuptse” comes from the 7,861-meter-high mountain “Nuptse” in the Himalayas that lie to the southwest of Mount Everest, and the inside is made of a high-quality 700-fill-power mix of goose down and feathers to ensure heat retention even in extremely cold regions. The down filling is a 700 fill power mix of goose down and feathers to ensure warmth even in the coldest of climates.
Through a wide range of color variations and collaborations with famous brands, it has become a masterpiece that boasts immense popularity.
The Nupsi is available in a wide range of colors, including black, yellow, blue, and purple. The contrasting color scheme of the Half Dome logo on the quilted shoulder of the colored models is recognized as one of the iconic designs, and is the decisive factor that differentiates them from other brands of down jackets. What has further spurred its popularity is the collaboration with Supreme that started in 2007. In 2020, a collaborative model with GUCCI was introduced, and its popularity knows no bounds.
