Fendi announces collaboration with long-established Japanese sneaker brand Moonstar!

Italian luxury brand FENDI has announced a collaboration with long-established Japanese sneaker brand MOONSTAR for its Spring/Summer 2020 men’s collection. FENDI stores worldwide and on fendi.com from mid-January 2020.

Fendi’s newly released special collaboration sneakers are the result of Moonstar’s skillful craftsmanship

The special pair of canvas and rubber sneakers, which incorporate the gardening mood of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, was created in collaboration with the Japanese brand ” MOONSTAR “, which specializes in vulcanizing. The vulcanizing method, which is derived from Vulcan, the Roman god of fire, is an old-fashioned shoe manufacturing method that utilizes a chemical reaction in which rubber is mixed with sulfur and heated to change it into elastic rubber. Using rubber-derived glue, craftsmen skillfully and by hand temporarily fasten the rubber parts mixed with sulfur one by one, then place them in a special kiln and apply pressure at high temperatures to firmly bond the rubber. The vulcanization process, which strongly bonds the canvas and rubber, produces a supple and durable sneaker.
