Skateboarding was the first sport to be adopted for the Tokyo Olympics. It is still fresh in our memories that Japanese skater Yuto Horiyone became the first gold medalist of all time, sending the whole country into a daytime frenzy. This slip-on sneaker was designed in collaboration with legendary American skateboarder Stefan Janoski. The silver and bronze medalist in street skateboarding for men chose an up-and-coming sneaker brand from Brazil with an interesting “leaf logo”!

Silver medalist Kevin Hofler and bronze medalist Jagger Eaton both wear the same brand of sneakers, CARIUMA, which started in Rio, Brazil in 2016 and features a leaf-like logo. Both wore the CATIBA Pro model, with Keubin Hofler choosing the low cut and Jagger Eaton the high cut. The brand is not yet available in Japan, but can be purchased on e-commerce sites such as Rakuten and Farfetch.
